Our "little project" in central France.

Welcome to our website, plotting the course of our renovation of a village house and disused blacksmith's forge in northern Creuse.

Over summer 2014 we continued with our work to convert the first floor of the old forge into a family suite.  We have installed the bathroom, decorated and furnished the double and single bedrooms and decorated the landing upstairs.  You can see the latest pictures in Converting the Forge Attic.  .

During October 2014 we furnished the two new bedrooms above the forge.  We also decorated the forge itself, connected the lights and put up the wall hangings.  We've had the woodburner going and it is lovely and cosy in there now.  It is beginning to look like a home!  We also gave the kitchen a new coat of paint, fitted further worksurfaces and storage, and put the dishwasher in.  We've also moved the dining room around

We still have to paper and paint the ceiling between the beams and then knock through the connecting door to join the two parts of the house together with an internal door.

There are a few new pictures at the end of The Garden page.  The garden still has a way to go and once we have completed the work on the house (estimated summer 2015) we will focus our attentions on a brick barbecue area and sorting out the back garden and grounds.
